The Route
A typographic installation across the host nation.
These works trace the story of soccer in the United States—one city at a time.
Each edition represents a FIFA World Cup 2026 U.S. host city, translated through language, structure, and play. Drawing from local history, cultural rhythm, and defining characteristics, every city is assigned a position within an American Starting Eleven.
A twelfth work (the National Edition)stands as the team’s manager, holding the full system together.
The Work
Each print is a puzzle-based composition, built from four distinct references to the city’s soccer past and present.
Embedded within the design is a QR code that activates a living layer of the work.
During the World Cup, it unlocks daily puzzle challenges.
Beyond the tournament, the experience continues evolving with future matches, competitions, and moments of inspiration.
This is not a static print.
It is a work that changes with the game.
